WHAT: Dobyns-Bennett Varsity Chorus to Perform at Carnegie Hall  

WHEN: Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Carnegie Hall, 57th Street and Seventh Avenue, New York City, NY.

Members of the Dobyns-Bennett Varsity Chorus will perform on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 8:30 p.m. located at the esteemed Carnegie Hall in Manhattan. More than 60 students accompanied by faculty and staff will make the trip on Thursday, March 30 from Kingsport.

The chorus with be performing as part of the National Youth Choir (by invitation only) directed by Conductors, Edith A. Copley and André Thomas.

The cost of the trip exceeded $80,000 and would not have been possible without numerous Kingsport residents and businesses that rallied around this group of students to help finance this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Kingsport City Schools (KCS) is a public school district located in Kingsport, Tenn., serving students in Sullivan and Hawkins county. KCS has been named the top school district in Tennessee as winner of the 2014 SCORE Prize District Award by the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) and has earned the 2014 Achievement Award in the annual Excellence in Tennessee Recognition Program by the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE).
