Menus & Payment Information

Be sure to use the "Filter by" feature to find your child's school, otherwise Abraham Lincoln Elementary School's menu will always show due to alphabetical order.
Kingsport City Schools is no longer using TITAN Family Portal for school menus or meal payments.

We’re excited to inform you that our meal (and/or school fees) payments portal, TITAN Family Portal, has upgraded to LINQ Connect. There’s no need to change your username and password, all of your information has already been transferred to LINQ Connect.

Here are some exciting upgrades to expect:
• A simple, fresh look to allow for better accessibility
• An interactive dashboard to view all family members in one profile
• A resource center to access help guides
• Streamlined menus required you to click less to do more

Visit your app store and find “LINQ Connect” available in the Google Play Store and the Apple store to enjoy these features. Just log in with your existing username and password. If you use a browser, visit LINQConnect.com to log in.

If you don’t use our online meal (and/or school fees) payments portal, LINQ Connect allows you to set up one time or recurring payments for your student’s meal. You can also view previous transactions, set spending limits, transfer funds between students, set low balance notifications, and more. It’s an easy way to manage meal payments without the hassle of sending cash.

MEAL CHARGE PROCEDURES

The meal is defined as the federally funded meal on the day insufficient funds occurs. This excludes all ala carte items.

  • When insufficient funds reach negative $5.00, a notice of insufficient funds shall be sent home with the student (elementary and middle schools only).
  • The insufficient funds reminder will be sent home weekly by the cafeteria manager for accounts that are greater than negative $5.00.
  • When insufficient funds reach negative $20.00, a standardized insufficient funds letter and a free and reduced meal application will be mailed by the school.
  • Once a student account balance reaches negative $20.00, a student will no longer be allowed to charge a meal of choice. Until charges are corrected, a student will receive a sandwich and milk in lieu of a chosen meal for lunch only. There will be no alternative food items for breakfast.
  • If the charge limit is exceeded multiple times during the school year, or is problematic with the student, the student can be referred to the Family Resource Center or the School Based Family Liaison at any time.
  • Toward the end of the school year, the SNS office will provide each school a list of students who maintain a negative balance.

INSUFFICIENT FUNDS

Students can only charge for meal purchases and not a la carte food items.
  • When insufficient funds reach a negative balance, a standardized insufficient funds letter generated by school nutrition software shall be mailed or emailed to the parents each week until the balance is paid.
  • For high school students, if insufficient funds reach negative $15.00, a student will no longer be allowed to charge a meal.
  • If the charge limit is reached multiple times during the school year or is problematic with the student, the student can be referred to the Family Resource Center or the School-Based Family Liaison at any time.
