Blaine Peffley is the highest ranked player by Golfweek.  He is ranked 39th coming into the tournament.

Dobyns-Bennett High School, Kingsport,TN:   Coach Cary Daniels
In 2000 the Indians finished 2nd in District 1-AAA & 4th in Region 1-AAA.  Their overall record was 62-30.   Tanner Davis & Travis McKinney are the top two returning players.  Matt Barefoot has transferred in from  Livingston Academy.  Tanner made All-Big 9 conference in 2000 and he placed 1st in the 2001 Farmers & Miners Tournament.  Tanner has shot a 31 & 33 in matches this season.  Travis made the All-Big 9 team as   well.

Science Hill High School, Johnson City, TN:   Coach Mike Poe 
In 2000 the Toppers finished 2nd in the TSSAA State Tournament by 1 shot to Hardin County.  Included in their 98-2 record were championships in Region 1-AAA, District 1-AAA, Farmers & Miners Tournament,  Washington County Bank Invitational, & the McMinnville Invitational.  They return Jimmy Humston, Chris   Halkowitz, Richard Lowe, & Derrick Adams.  Richard Lowe was 1st in the District 1-AAA and 2nd in the  TSSAA State Tournament.  Jimmy Humston was 1st in the Region 1-AAA & 2nd in the District 1-AAA.  Chris  Halkowitz placed 1st in the McMinnville Invitational & 3rd in the Region 1-AAA. Derrick Adams was tied for  7th in the TSSAA State Tournament.  In 2001 the Toppers placed 2nd in the Morristown Invitational.

Tennessee High, Bristol, TN:   Coach Bob Zeiger
In 2000 the Vikings were 31-31 and 4th in District 1-AAA.  They were the Big 6 Champions and Micah Chappell is one of their top players.

Nease High School,  St. Augustine, Fl:    Coach Bud Beech
In 2000 the Panthers were Florida State AA Champions.  They return 4 of their top players.  Three of their top 5 players are ranked in the top 322 by Golfweek.

Clarksville High School, Clarksville, TN:   Coach Ronnie Fuqua 
In 2000 the Wildcats were 24-9.   They were District 10-AAA Champions & Runnerup in Region 5-AAA. Their top player is John Brannen.  John finished 4th in the 2000 TSSAA State Tournament, 2nd in the Region, & 2nd in the District.  John was the 1998 A-AA State Champion while attending Jackson University School. He qualified for the State Open this Spring.  Ryne Fisher, will be a freshman in 2001, will be a member of the team.  Ryne was the #1 ranked player in Tennessee as a 12 year old & 13 year old. James Brannen, John’s younger brother, finished 2nd in the 2001 Tennessee State Junior.

Farragut High School, Knoxville, TN:   Coach Mike Driver
In 2000 the Admirals finished 3rd in the TSSAA State Tournament with a 61-11 record.  They return 4 of their top 5 from a team that was 1st in Region 2-AAA, 2nd in District 4-AAA, 3rd in McMinnville, & 4th in Morristown.  Ross Cox placed 3rd in the State, 3rd in the Region, & 1st in the District.  Ross just recently won the 2001 Coca-Cola Prep Championship with a score of 68.  Luke Ladd placed 1st in the Region 2-AAA tournament and Brad Barnes placed 16th in the State.

Bradley Central High School, Cleveland, TN:   Coach Bill Robertson
In 2000 the Bears finished 5th in the TSSAA State Tournament and were undefeated in the regular season. They were District 5-AAA & Region 3-AAA Champions.  Returning players are Brandon Cissom & Bill Tarver.  Brandon fired an opening round of 69 in the state tournament & finished in the top 20.

Baylor High School, Chattanooga, TN:   Coach King Oehmig  
In 2000 the Red Raiders were State Champions & Region Champions.  They have won 6 State Championships in the 90's.  Returning is Luke List who was 3rd in the State & he was named Player of the Year by the Chattanooga Time/Free Press for two consecutive years.  Luke is ranked 119 by Golfweek. Three of Baylors top 5 are ranked in the top 422 by Golfweek.

Bearden High School, Knoxville, TN:   Coach Richard Cowan
In 2000 the Bulldogs finished 5th in District 4-AAA with a 12-12 record.  The Dogs return 4 of their top 5 players.   Juniors Tyler Neff & Matt Copenhauer, both qualified for the region, are the top returning players. Tyler played in the 2001 Tennessee Men’s State Amateur.

Greeneville High School, Greenville, TN:   Coach Steve Collins         
In 2000 the Greene Devils were District 2-AAA Champions last season.  They placed 3rd in their conference tournament & 3rd in the Region tournament.  They return Todd Lewis who qualified for the state tournament and Alex Sauls was 1st in the District Tournament.

Webb School, Knoxville, TN:   Coach David Youngblood
In 2000 the Spartans placed 4th in the TSSAA Division II State Tournament.  They averaged 310 strokes and complied a 41-22 record.  They return Neil Goodson & Cliff Lowry.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, Ohio:   Coach Craig Adams 
In 2000 they were Ohio Division II State Champions, District Champions, Cardinal Invitational Champions, University School Invitational Champions, North Coast League Tournament Champions, & Northeast Ohio Catholic Invitational Champions.   They return John Zaller who was runner-up in the Ohio Division II Sectional Tournament. Brian Demeter & Brian Dietzel also return.       

Bishop McNamara High School,  Illinois:   Coach Karl Keller 
In 2000 the Fighting Irish were Class A State Champions and Runnerups in the Region Catholic Tournament. Their top player last season signed a full scholarship with Ohio State.  They return Tim Keller, coach’s son, and Grayson Norgaard.  Tim was 4th in the State & 2nd in the Region.

Evangelical Christian School, Memphis, TN:   Coach Bill Garner
In 2000 the Eagles placed 3rd in the TSSAA Division II State Tournament and had a 23-2 record.  In 1995 they were State Champions.  Ryan Mayberry returns after winning the Regional Championship in 2000.

Cedar Crest High School, PA:   Coach Fred Sherk
In Pennsylvania they don’t have a team state championship.  They have won 17 Section Championships & 10 League Championships.   Former ETSU & Pro Golfer, Stu Ingram is a graduate of Cedar Crest.   In the State Tournament Blaine Peffley has finished 23rd as a freshman, 4th as a sophomore, 2nd as a junior.  He will be returning.  Blaine won the 2001 Slammin Sammy Snead Junior Championship this spring.  Blaine won 3 AJGA events in 2001 and is ranked 30 by Golfweek. Also returning is Brooks Treffgar who finished 7th in their league championship.
