The McDonald’s Tournament of Champions was truly the home of champions.  We had 6 State Champions participate in the 2001 tournament.  Science Hill, Chattanooga Baylor, & Nease were team champions in their respective states.  Ross Cox, Farragut H.S, Luke List, Baylor H.S, & Blaine Pleffley, Cedar Crest H.S were individual champions.  Blaine broke the scoring record for the Pennsylvania State Tournament.  It was previously held by Jim Furyk.  Clarksville H.S. finished 2nd in Class AAA in Tennessee and Farragut was 4th in Class AAA.  Evangelical Christian finished 2nd in Division II in Tennessee.  Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin finished 3rd in Ohio State Tournament.  Bishop McNamara finished 6th in the state in Illinois.  John Brannen, Clarksville HS, tied for 2nd in Class AAA in Tennessee, Derek Adams & Chris Halkowitz, Science H.S, finished tied for 4th.  In the Tennessee Division II tournament Ryan Mayberry, of ECS, finished 2nd and Josh Nelms, of Baylor, tied for 3rd place. Preston Brown, of Nease, finished 4th in the Class A Florida Tournament.
