"Cinco de Mayo" - Mexonline.com offers a good history of the Mexican celebrations for "Cinco de Mayo;" a battle of unity and of national pride for the Mexican people.
 
Hector Elizondo - Of Spanish and Puerto Rican parents, Hector Elizondo is an actor with numerous credits to his name, including The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and Raising Helen. He joined with Joy2Learn which was created in 1986. These links, Joy2Learn and Hector Elizondo, lead to their collaboration on the theatrical e-presentations; "I Ought to be in Pictures" by Neil Simon, "Cyrano de Bergerac" by Edmond Rostand, "Othello" by Shakespeare, and "Antigone" by Sophocles. He charismatically introduces the stories, the authors, his personal thoughts on acting and the plays, and brilliantly performs brief segments of each of the four masterpieces.

Miguel Indurain - This famous Spanish cyclist has won the Tour de France five years in a row and you can read all about him on this bilingual site.

Isabel Allende - Isabel Allende, a Chilean author, has won international acclaim as a fiction writer. Her personal website gives a detailed representation of her work and accomplishments.

Scholastic – This is an excellent site for both English and Spanish online games featuring a wide variety of activities that teach grammar, capitalization, science, Spanish and English. Enjoy!

Clifford the Big Red Dog – WOW! This is a great site, also by Scholastic, for beginning readers. Unfortunately, it does not have activities in Spanish yet.

Scholastic lesson plans offer a large assortment of resources: reading, writing, math, science, SPANISH, etc. (I like Scholastic!) Have fun!

Learn Spanish - This site offers free materials to aid in the learning of Spanish.
