The Kingsport City Schools Board of Education has announced its slate of meeting dates for the 2022-23 school year. With few exceptions, the Board will hold regular monthly board meetings on the second Tuesday at 6 p.m. and regular monthly work sessions on the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m.
All meetings are located in the Tennessee Room at the KCS Administrative Support Center, 400 Clinchfield Street, third floor, downtown Kingsport.
The meetings include a public comment period on agenda items and all meetings are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Members of the audience may speak to an item on the printed agenda when the President announces that the Board shall take up the topic Public Input on Agenda Items. Before addressing the Board, the speaker shall state his or her name; prior notification of intent to speak is not necessary. To address the Board on a non-agenda topic, individuals must submit a written request to the Superintendent of Schools at least three (3) business days before the regular meeting. The Superintendent and President (Executive Committee) may elect to add the topic to the agenda or consider it privately at another time and place. All Kingsport Board of Education public meetings are conducted in accessible locations.
