Kingsport City Schools - Activities are listed below for each participating school.

Jackson Elementary:
• “Watch us Grow” Tree Planting Ceremony in partnership with Food City at 11:45 a.m.

Jefferson Elementary:
• “Watch us Grow” Tree Planting Ceremony in partnership with Food City at 9:30 a.m.

Johnson Elementary:
• “Watch us Grow” Tree Planting Ceremony in partnership with Food City at 10:15 a.m.
• In partnership with Keep Kingsport Beautiful for a hands-on opportunity to learn how to make the Earth a better place, the Education on the Go Mobile Classroom will be parked on Johnson’s front lawn 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. This is a solar powered classroom with secondary electrical back up that features education cells, touchscreen programs and videos focusing on litter prevention and recycling education for Earth Day programs, STEM events, etc.
• Flower seed planting at 8:45 a.m.
• Kindergarten class collecting trash on school grounds at 9 a.m.
• 2nd grade group will showcase their year-long recycling project called “Ms. Green”. Group meets at 10:30 a.m.
• Donated flowers will be planted.
• Art clubs will create drawings that encourage others to use the 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Kennedy Elementary:
• “Watch us Grow” Tree Planting Ceremony in partnership with Food City at 12:40 p.m.

Lincoln Elementary:
• “Watch us Grow” Tree Planting Ceremony in partnership with Food City at 2:30 p.m.
• Pre-K, 2nd & 5th grade will be picking up trash around school grounds at 12:15 p.m.
• 1st grade will take an Earth Day Nature Walk and complete a scavenger hunt throughout the day.

Washington Elementary:
• “Watch us Grow” Tree Planting Ceremony in partnership with Food City at 2 p.m.
• ECLC Bird Bath Ceremony and cleaning up the outside ECLC area at 9:15 a.m.

Sevier Middle:
• Teachers are cleaning the school grounds, planting flowers and mulching from 3 – 5 p.m.
• This week Callie Jeter’s 6th & 7th grade classes are making collaborative grid posters and on Friday, 6th grade will be working on recycled found object sculptures

D-B EXCEL:
• Tree planting in Logan's Rose Garden at D-B EXCEL in honor of Logan Rose, a student who passed away a few of years ago, and Earth Day 2016 at 8 a.m. “Together, Earth Day initiatives such as ours will make a significant impact on the Earth and provide a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable planet for all. This year, we challenge you to Plant a tree in honor of Earth Day 2016! #treesforearth” – Principal Shanna Hensley

D-B High School:
• “Watch us Grow” Tree Planting Ceremony in partnership with Food City at 11 a.m.
• Plant Sale kickoff Friday after 11 a.m. and on Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Palmer Center:
• Pre-K students will be picking up trash in partnership with Keep Kingsport Beautiful throughout the day.
