WHAT WE DO
One of the primary goals of the Kingsport City Schools Education Foundation is to provide funding for innovative projects that reach beyond the scope of the school system's regular operating budget.
Focus Grants
Focus grants are small grants for teachers (or teaching teams) focused on classroom programs or projects. Up to $4,000 is available annually. Grant applications are accepted any time throughout the school year (August through May). The Education Foundation aims to respond to each grant request within two weeks of receipt of each application.
The goal of the Focus Grant program is to provide funding for educational projects or program opportunities (when other funding sources are not available) that arise anytime during the school year. These educational projects and programs are typically somewhat smaller and less costly but have a broad impact. Focus Grant requests will be accepted and considered throughout the school year, as long as funds are available.
APPLY NOW
The KCS Education Foundation generally focuses on grants to Kingsport City Schools classroom teachers in amounts <$1,000 but is open to larger requests based on merit. Requests are for a one-time funding of projects or initiatives that may be replicated as a best practice throughout the district.
Grants are not available for training, travel expenses (student or adult), software, or technology with associated maintenance fees or other recurring costs. No handwritten applications will be considered. Every part should be typed into this application except the signatures. Please carefully review the Statement of Agreement for additional items not approved for grant funding.
