WHAT: 2019 Kingsport City Schools 10th Annual Back to School Expo 

WHEN: Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 3 - 6 p.m.

WHERE: Kingsport Farmer’s Market, Downtown Kingsport


Kingsport City Schools will host the 2019 10th Annual Back to School Expo, on Tuesday, July 30 from 3 - 6 p.m. located at the Kingsport Farmer’s Market. There will be 90+ vendors on-site for parents/guardians, students of Kingsport City Schools, and the Kingsport community to enjoy.

For the first time ever, Kingsport City Schools will have a prize drawing for ten (10) brand new backpacks filled with new school supplies! In addition, there will be free carousel rides, live entertainment, a fashion show, two inflatables, putt-putt, Kingsport Police Department K-9 Unit Officers on-site to meet, face painting, balloon animals, and pets for adoption. Shaved ice, hot dogs, and kettle corn will be available for purchase. 
 
Shuttle buses will be provided by First Baptist Church Kingsport and run from 2:30 - 6:15 p.m. on the corner of Sullivan and Revere Streets to the Kingsport Farmer's Market free of charge.

The event will kick-off at 3 p.m. with the National Anthem and the presentation of colors by the Dobyns-Bennett High School Air Force JROTC Color Guard. Various entertainment will continue until 6 p.m., hosted by 90.3 FM WCSK Radio The Voice of Kingsport City Schools, including: Dobyns-Bennett Cheerleaders; demonstrations by the Dobyns-Bennett AF JROTC and performances by Kingsport students at Holloway Dance, the StockbrokersCenter for Performing ArtsJefferson Elementary Chorus, D-B AcapellaSevier Middle School Band Ensemble, a fashion show by GoodWill and closing out the evening with a performance by Tri-Cities Talent

Parents/guardians will be able to pick up information needed to get their child(ren) started back to school. They will also have the opportunity to sign-up for programs and activities for this fall in locations throughout Kingsport.

Vendors range from Kingsport City Schools services and school programs; health, nutrition and safety-related services; animal welfare/pet adoption; financing for college; tutoring, library/literacy programs; pre-school programs; wellness activities; arts, sports and recreation activities; children’s services, and various others providing interactive activities, demonstrations and prizes.
