Kingsport City Schools Announces 2020 Summer Meals for Kids Program

KINGSPORT, Tenn. Kingsport City Schools School Nutrition Services department has again partnered with the Tennessee Department of School Nutrition Services to provide the Summer Meals for Kids program located at Sevier Middle School, Johnson Elementary School, and Washington Elementary School. There will also be eight school bus routes delivering meals to children around Kingsport. 

No cost meals will be served Monday – Friday to all children 18 years of age or younger from May 26 – July 17, 2020 (excluding July 3). "Grab and Go" meals will be provided from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at school sites and via school bus delivery. No meals will be served on weekends. There are no income requirements to participate in this summer meals program.

A program flyer with school bus route delivery locations and times will be sent home with meals currently being served and delivered to Kingsport children due to the COVID-19 global pandemic school closing. The flyer can also be found on www.k12k.com

The 2020 Seamless Summer Food Service program is administered by the Tennessee Department of School Nutrition Services under an agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Meals will be provided to all children without charge.
