KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Bristol Tennessee City Schools, Kingsport City Schools, and Sullivan County Schools will release back-to-school operations plans for the 2020-21 school year on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.  A joint press conference will be held at the Sullivan County Schools Boardroom (154 Blountville Bypass, Blountville, TN) at 1:30 p.m. to review the plans. Leadership from all three school districts and the Sullivan County Regional Health Department will be in attendance.

With guidance from multiple health experts, the Sullivan County Regional Health Department and Sullivan County school districts have developed the "Sullivan County Plan," a framework for opening the 2020-21 school year.  This document outlines the pandemic research, philosophies, and protocol guidance that Sullivan County school districts considered when developing plans for the coming school year.  Based on the information in this document, each of the three Sullivan County public school systems have developed their own district-specific procedures that will be in effect in each individual school district as school resumes for the 2020-21 academic year.
