With guidance from multiple health experts, the Sullivan County Regional Health Department and Sullivan County school districts have developed the "Sullivan County Plan," a framework for opening the 2020-21 school year. This document outlines the pandemic research, philosophies, and protocol guidance that Sullivan County school districts considered when developing plans for the coming school year. Based on the information in this document, each of the three Sullivan County public school systems have developed their own district-specific procedures that will be in effect in each individual school district as school resumes for the 2020-21 academic year.
Kingsport City Schools (KCS) is a public school district located in Kingsport, Tenn., serving students in Sullivan and Hawkins county. The district is comprised of 13 schools, including a Pre-K, eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, a high school program of choice, and an alternative learning program; with total enrollment over 7,700 students.
