The Kingsport City Schools Board of Education will hold a called meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 6 p.m. Per Executive Order Number 51 issued by Governor Bill Lee on June 29, 2020, the called meeting will be held electronically. The meeting will be live streamed via Zoom on the Kingsport CIty Schools Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/KptSchools).
The called meeting will include a 30 minute public comment period (up to three [3] minutes per person) where individuals will have an opportunity to express their feedback to the Board of Education via Zoom. Please note, with all public comment periods, a dialogue will not take place, but rather the Board will hear public comments. Interested individuals a part of the Kingsport City Schools community who would like to address the Board this evening will need to email their name, street address, and email to [email protected]. Due to the time allowance given for public comment, only the first 10 individuals will receive a Zoom invitation to address the Board.
The Board will meet in person, but the meeting will be held via Zoom. Access to the KCS Administrative Support Center will be limited to Board Members and essential KCS personnel only.
The purpose of the called meeting is to consider approval of the "Kingsport City Schools Operations Manual - Framework for Opening the 2020-21 School Year," a potential revision to the 2020-21 KCS School Calendar, and to consider approval of revised Policy 2.601 - Fundraising Activities. The regularly scheduled Board Work Session has been cancelled.Kingsport City Schools (KCS) is a public school district located in Kingsport, Tenn., serving students in Sullivan and Hawkins county.
