Kingsport Board of Education to Hold Called Meeting/Joint Work Session with City of Kingsport Board of Mayor and Aldermen

Kingsport, Tenn. - The Kingsport Board of Education will hold a called meeting on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 4 p.m. in the Tennessee Room at the KCS Administrative Support Center, 400 Clinchfield Street, third floor, downtown Kingsport.  The purpose of the called meeting is to consider a financial revision to the employment contract of Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse.
 
Following the called meeting, a joint work session with the Kingsport Board of Mayor and Alderman will take place at 4:30 p.m.  The purpose of the joint work session is to discuss the capital budget.

Pursuant to Executive Order Number 16 issued by Governor Bill Lee on March 20, 2020 and Executive Order Number 78 issued on February 26, 2021 extending the effective date, the called meeting and joint work session of the Kingsport Board of Mayor and Aldermen and Kingsport Board of Education will be held electronically.  The physical location of the meeting is the Tennessee Room located on the third floor at the Kingsport City Schools Administration building, 400 Clinchfield Street, Kingsport, TN.  The called meeting and joint work session can be viewed on the Kingsport City Schools YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/KPTSchools.   The called meeting will begin at 4 p.m. and the joint work session will begin at 4:30 p.m.
 
In light of COVID-19 and to help prevent its spread and in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public there will be no physical access permitted by the public at the physical location of the meeting. The meeting will be conducted electronically, and members of the public can attend and listen to the meeting through access of the video at https://www.youtube.com/user/KPTSchools.  The audio recording of the meeting will also be available within two business days of the meeting at www.kingsporttn.gov and clicking on the ‘Livestream Video’ box and then clicking on BMA Work Session Audio for the respective meeting date or at www.k12k.com and selecting the "Board" tab and then clicking on Board Schedule & Notes and selecting the respective meeting date.

Board members are not required to be physically present together. Board members attending the meeting by electronic means will be counted in the quorum.
