KINGSPORT, Tenn. - George Washington Elementary School has been designated a 2025–2026 Tennessee Arts Academy (TAA) Arts Partner School, recognizing the school’s strong commitment to arts education and support of its teachers.
“Our art teacher, Howard Dale, has dedicated himself to attending the annual week-long Tennessee Arts Academy Summer Institute, demonstrating his passion and commitment to strengthening arts education,” said Washington Elementary School Principal Heather Wolf. “Through his dedication and our designation as an Arts Partner School of Distinction, we are honored to represent a strong, ongoing commitment to developing the whole child, with a meaningful focus on the arts. We are so proud of Mr. Dale and this honor.”
The TAA Summer Institute provides a week of intensive training led by nationally renowned artists and educators. Participants gain new strategies and inspiration to bring back to their classrooms, directly benefiting students through enriched arts experiences.
As an Arts Partner School, Washington Elementary will be recognized on the TAA website and featured in organizational publications as a supporter of arts education and student enrichment. The designation highlights the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering creativity, supporting teachers, and ensuring students have access to meaningful arts education opportunities.
