WHAT: 2015 Kingsport City Schools 6th Annual Back to School Expo 

WHEN: Tuesday, July 28 from 3 - 6 p.m.

WHERE: Kingsport Town Center, 2101 Fort Henry Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664

Kingsport City Schools, Kingsport Town Center and Kingsport Times-News are hosting the 2015 6th Annual Back to School Expo, on Tuesday, July 28 from 3 - 6 p.m. located at Kingsport Town Center. There will be over 95 vendors/exhibitors on-site for parents or guardians, students of Kingsport City Schools, and community to enjoy.

There will be free entertainment, demonstrations and lots of activities for the kids on the upper and lower levels of the mall. NEW for 2015: Backyard Terrors Dinosaur Park will bring their Triceratops ride, Cooper's Gem Mine will have a 12 foot portable gem mine, the Kingsport Mets mascot will be on-site, Home Depot of Kingsport will hand out Kid's Workshop materials, GameStop will have tables set-up for Minecraft, and both Miss Kingsport and Miss Sullivan County.

The event will kick-off at 3 p.m. located in the Sears’ Court with the National Anthem and Dobyns-Bennett High School fight song performed by the Dobyns-Bennett High School Band Ensemble and the presentation of colors by the Dobyns-Bennett High School Air Force JROTC Color Guard. Various entertainment will continue until 6:05 p.m. hosted by 90.3 FM WCSK Radio, including: Dobyns-Bennett Cheerleaders and Dobyns-Bennett Spirit Shakers; demonstrations by the Dobyns-Bennett AF JROTC and KHK Martial Arts; performances by Zoe Stout, D-B Armonia & Female Acapella Band, Jevonte Lyons and Holloway Dance School.

Parents/guardians will be able to pick up information needed to get their child(ren) started back to school. They will also have the opportunity to sign them up for programs and activities for this fall in locations throughout Kingsport.

Various stores within the mall will offer discounts during the event. The discount listing will be provided at the Kingsport Town Center table located in the Sears’ Court.

Vendors range from Kingsport City Schools services and school programs; health, nutrition and safety related services; animal welfare/pet adoption; financing for college; tutoring, library/literacy programs; pre-school programs; wellness activities; arts, sports and recreation activities; children’s services and various other vendors providing interactive activities, demonstrations and prizes.
