The Dobyns-Bennett High School Competition Marching Band traveled to Atlanta to the Bands of America Super Regional this past Saturday. The event was held in the Georgia Dome and included 42 bands from 12 states. D-B was the only band from Tennessee to advance to the finals and was fourth place overall, their highest placement ever for D-B.

The three bands that outscored D-B were all former national champion bands, including the reigning national champion from Florida, Tarpon Springs High School. This comes on the heals of two grand champions, one at the Bands of America Regional at Wake Forest and another at the Western Carolina University Tournament of Champions. The D-B Competitive Marching Bands record stands at 84 and 3.  The band's next performance will be on Thursday, Nov. 12 at the BOA Grand National Preliminary in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium, with a goal of progressing to the finals on Nov. 14.
