Please take a moment to watch Kingsport City Schools Superintendent @drjmoorhouse provide an update on where the district is in regard to reopening school on Monday, August 3, 2020 and when you will receive communication on those processes and procedures.

Hello, Kingsport City School Community. This is Dr. Jeff Morehouse, Superintendent. I hope this message finds you healthy and happy that your summer is going along just well we are now reaching our midpoint of the summer and the point of this communication is to let you know that we have are reopening plans getting ready to roll out this summer has been pretty hectic this far. We've been diligently we plans meeting with several different groups we've met with teacher groups we met with principal groups and we've met with Community groups that has involve parents a religious organizations each of these different groups offers different insights and lenses to look at our reopening plans and helps to give a critical feedback that we need to be able to make the most informed planned is possible so those things that are included in that plan and involve the screening of students when they come to school busing Howell things look on a school bus the cleaning protocols that will have in schools that will be different than we've had before dying ways that will serve students food and hand washing powder protocols just to name a few we want to do every we can to mitigate the spread of a disease but also to provide a safe and healthy environment for for our students and teachers as they come back to school you can anticipate getting this roll out next week as we communicated earlier that that would be coming right after the 4th of July and so that that's coming on this next week it's hard to believe that we're already into July I also want to let you know to to say thank you to all of our 4500 different families and parents that have participated in our survey to help give us information about other things that we need to be considering and planning for I know that after we roll out this survey or as we roll out our plans will be giving you some time to digest that and will also be conducting some additional surveys on the back side so you can be looking up or some of those things in the coming weeks as well some things that are still on our Horizon as we get ready for the opening of school is we still have our graduation on July 17th we look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our class of 2020 and we I look forward to welcoming students back on August 3rd I just want to say thank you for the support that you've given to Kingsport City schools and as always roll tribe
