hello Kingsport City Schools Community this is dr. Jeff Morehouse superintendent I hope this message finds you healthy and happy coming off of a Fourth of July weekend with family and friends as promised we had said that we would be sharing our reopening plans after this Fourth of July weekend and today is that day to reach this important Milestone we've had the help of a lot of people and most importantly want to say thank you to the Sullivan County Health Department for their wisdom and guidance and their areas of expertise around health and helping us to develop these plans that you see before you leave lions are rooted in contributions. All lights on Marcella Wood County Health Department from Vanderbilt Hospital pediatrics from the American Academy of Pediatrics and as I said from epidemiologist Sullivan County Health Department with the plans to be able to open up schools in a way that is a safe and healthy environment for both students and staff listen to those medical communities that have helped to inform displaying we have additionally listed at last page other contributors to our playing the date of help to give us a lens to look at details at the Grandeur of granular level teacher groups principal groups parents and Community groups each bring you an important lens as I said in looking at the details that we can develop I know that is you take time over the next several days to look in there at what is contained in our plan that you will still have questions and what I want to encourage you to who is to send us questions to info at k12k.com those questions that you sent to us that will immediately start developing a frequently-asked-questions document that we will follow up and continue to provide a tails and answers to those questions that we just didn't think of ourselves I know that as we develop those questions that or answers to some of those questions that those answers still may not be satisfactory for your level of comfort as we enter into these uncertain times for those opportunities for families to register their students in a virtual environment as well opportunities will start next Monday and more details will follow on that procedure I also want to say thank you for your support and your efforts to give us time to develop these the most important thing that I think that you'll be able to notice is that our our our flexibility and our plans are based on the numbers of positive test that are in our region and so between now and Indian School the things that you can do to help us most importantly is it continue to practice social distancing or mass we're pro where appropriate and continued hand-washing to help us drive the numbers down as their numbers remain low or Opera cities for normalcy increase again thank you for your support of Kingsport City Schools much prayer and petition has gone into these plans and we want to be able to provide a healthy and happy and Vine for students and staff as we enter into this new school year as always roll tribe
