He's done a great job explaining and showing how KCS determines the three opening scenarios (green, yellow, red) based on the TN Department of Health's Epi Curve numbers. KCS and the Sullivan County Regional Health Department look at Sullivan County numbers based on the "average case rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 Sullivan County residents over the last 14 days." looking for City Schools Bristol City schools and Sullivan County Schools recently released their framework for reopening schools in the fall how operations may be affected by covid-19 and what precautions we put in place to keep students in faculty safe and their official reopening document which can found by navigating to www.k12k.com clicking on Kingsport City Schools reopening plan and opening the Kingsport City Schools operation manual drop down menu now procedures might change depending on community Spirit at the bar is being adjusted depending on whether we have minimal moderate or substantial spread of consumption these are split into green yellow and red zone However unfortunately I've noticed a lot of people seem to be a little bit confused as to what numbers do you Zone or actually based on housing people quoting hospitalization numbers or the average number of cases in the county or even the average number of cases in the state hopefully with this video I'll be able to clear up this confusion as well as help make people aware of where accurate and up-to-date numbers can be when looking at how Community spread will be taken into consideration by the school system's the number that actually matters is the average pace rate of new covid-19 cases per 100,000 Sullivan County residents over the last 14 days what does that mean I think part of what's Happening Here is that when people hear something like that they assume they're going to need to do some kind of complicated math or no like 15 other sets of numbers to find the one that they actually need but it's a lot simpler than that the information you need can be turn on the Epic herb section of the tn.gov website that link to this portion the website can be found in the school opening section of the operations manual in the description below under the drop-down menu on the reopening section to Kingsport City Schools website or on the screen right now what's your on the correct page will need to scroll down to the recent cases by County Section by default the numbers for Anderson County will be displayed so simply select the drop-down menu in the upper right and scroll down until you reach Sullivan County near the we can get this page it might not be immediately clear what number you're looking for it can be found in this box at the bottom left average rate of new covid-19 cases per 100,000 County residents over the last 14 days this is the number as of the time of recording we're currently at 4.88 but it'll probably be different depending on whatever you're looking at it this website doesn't break counties down into zones quite the same way as we need so just remember if his number is five or below or in the green if this number is anywhere from 6 to 10 we're in the yellow and at this number is over 10 were in the red that's really all there is to it until you found this video helpful and I was able to clear up some confusion thanks for watch
