Kingsport City Schools is pleased to offer one of its employees this exciting opportunity!
KCS has the opportunity to hire an Associate Principal who will also be able to earn their Administrative Endorsement and an advanced degree through University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) free of cost.

Qualifying KCS employees may apply to the UTK Center for Education Leadership to join their Leadership Academy for the fall of 2017. A joint interview and selection committee from UTK and KCS will consider candidates for this program and the position of Associate Principal with KCS.
The cost of this program will be paid for by UTK, KCS and community partners.
*District participation in the UTK leadership program is pending final district approval. The position of Associate Principal is available with or without the UTK leadership program. All interested personnel should apply and in the event final approval for the program is not received, applicants will be notified and given the option to withdraw or continue the application process for an Associate Principal position in the district without participating in the leadership program.
**Note, there is more than one Associate Principal position available with KCS for the 2017-2018 school year. Only those employees who apply through the UTK Leadership Academy website (below) will be considered for the leadership program. Other applicants not participating in the UTK Leadership Academy may apply for the position of Associate Principal through the posting on Skyward and the KCS website.
Who can apply?
Current certified employees of KCS.
 Must hold a valid Professional teaching license in the State of Tennessee.
 Must have a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in KCS.
 Must participate in the Associate Principal program with KCS. Applicants to the UTK Leadership Academy are applying concurrently for a position with KCS as Associate Principal. (No separate application required.)
 Preference will be given to applicants who do not already hold an administrative endorsement.
 Classes start August 11, 2017.
 Program length is 15 months including commitment in the summer.
 Includes on-line classes and the commitment to attend classes in person at UTK once a week on Fridays during the school year and several times a week during the summer. (*The program does not cover the cost of mileage or travel. Employee is responsible for this cost.)
 The successful candidate will sign an agreement through UTK committing to four years of service with KCS.
 Completion of the program is not a guarantee of a leadership position in the district.

 Deadline for applications is June 30, 2017.
