Coordinated School Health Services

INTRODUCING: KINGSPORT CITY SCHOOL VIRTUAL CALMING ROOM

We know that times are hard and trying. We may all have feelings and thoughts that are hard to handle or manage, and that is why we have created a Virtual Calming Room. This room can be used by teachers, staff, parents and caregivers and even children.

We hope this can give you some tools for your toolbox to navigate life.

WHAT IS COORDINATED SCHOOL HEALTH?

Tennessee Coordinated School Health (CSH) connects physical, emotional and social health with education through eight inter-related components. This coordinated approach improves students' health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, communities and schools working together. CSH works with many partners to address school health priorities.

CSH works in eight components, that even though they are listed separately, it is their composite which allows CSH to have significant impact:

  • Health Education
  • Health Services
  • Nutrition
  • Physical Education/Physical Activity
  • Healthy School Environment
  • School Counseling, Psychological, and Social Services
  • Student, Family, and Community Involvement
  • School Staff Wellness
