BOE Work Session Notes - October 27, 2020

The Kingsport City Schools Board of Education held a work session on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Several key reports were presented, including:
  • A report on John Adams Elementary School;
  • A report on Ross N. Robinson Middle School; and
  • A review of the FY 2019-2020 School Activity Funds Audit Report.

Dr. Kelley Harrell, principal at John Adams Elementary School, provided a report on what is taking place at Adams.
  • Adams Elementary currently serves 510 students in grades PreK - 5th.

Dr. Corey Gardenhour, principal at Ross N. Robinson Middle School, provided a report on what is taking place at Robinson.
  • Robinson Middle School currently serves 952 students in grades 6th - 8th.

David Frye, Chief Finance Officer, presented the KCS School Activity Funds Audit Report for Fiscal Year 2019-2020.
  • The audit was completed by Brown Edwards & Company L.L.P.

The next meeting of the Board of Education will on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 6 p.m.  The meeting will take place in the Tennessee Room of the Administrative Support Center (400 Clinchfield Street).
