BOE Work Session Notes - November 26, 2019

The Kingsport City Schools Board of Education held a work session on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Two key items were discussed, including:
  • The quarterly financial report for FY 2019-20; and
  • A mid-year progress report by the Superintendent.

KCS Chief Finance Officer David Frye provided the board a financial update on the first quarter of FY 2019-20.
  • The update covers current revenues and expenditures, as well as estimates for the current fiscal year.

KCS Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse provided the Board an update on district progress through the mid-point of this year.
  • The report covered a range of items such as academic progress and updates on student/staff accomplishments and programs.
  • Several items presented are outlined in the 2019 Strategic Plan Data Dashboard (see below).
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 6 p.m.  The meeting will take place in the Tennessee Room of the Administrative Support Center (400 Clinchfield Street).
